My Headshot

Hello! I'm Jackie Hu.

I'm a second year Ph.D. student at University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, School of Information, advised by Prof. Florian Schaub.

My interests lies in the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), privacy, and computer security. I'm broadly interested in understanding how privacy violation and surveillance influence people's privacy and security decision-making.

I received a B.S. in Computer Science, a B.A. in Spanish Studies (see my Spanish Portfolio), and a minor in Ballroom Dance from Brigham Young University - Provo, where I worked as an undergraduate research assistant under Prof. Daniel Zappala on understanding motivations of secure email adoption and the usability of account recovery with passwordless authentications.

Here is my CV (updated May 2023).
